Well well well, here I am; sun is shining, house is clean, everyone is happy and I'm not at work. That's right, I'm playing hooky. Actually it's a needed mental health day that I have planned to be mostly full of sewing and moving more slowly. And apparently blogging. Both are being accomplished very well given that's it's 10 and I haven't showered yet.
This weekend Gord and I headed to the Mhat, or Medicine Hat if you so please. I baked some chocolate chip zucchini bread for the occasion and return was stuffed full of turkey (yep I ate it) and other yummy treats from the in-laws:) We lazed around and watched television for hours on end which is what my brain needed, however, I did manage to finish binding my quilt through endless episodes of horders and foodnetwork shows, so it wasn't all a bust.
To alleviate some of our guilt for sitting around so much, we took a wee jaunt down in Police Point Park. Sigh...I like fall when it's warm and sunny and like this:
Last week I bought this book. It's a little ridiculous buying cooking books since you can get so much free on line, but the shiny pictures and cheap price tag make me a sucker. Every time I promise I won't get any more until I bake everything in the book. So far that hasn't happened and I spend my spare time flipping though the pages and dreaming....
I also finished my baby colour book. It was fun to make and turned out all right. I don't know how durable the binding is but at the very least somebody could have some colourful hot pads at the end of the day.
Off to sew my troubles away. Happy post turkey week:)
thanks for the recipe, and the tip that it was there.
