Lists

Peru, wedding, peru, wedding...my brain goes in circles these last couple of weeks. The last little bit has been all about lists. Lists for Peru and lists for the wedding and we are so on top of it I think we might deserve a medal. Gord and I, and there might have been a bit more Gord than I, finished planning and booking our hostels and flights for Peru. It was a bit tricky at times but we slowly figured it all out and many emails and a few funny phone calls to Peru later (where my Spanish was put to the test and didn't really pass with more than an F) we are all set to go with a crazy itinerary. We will be exhausted and sweaty and cold and tired and sick (from the guinea pig and altitude) but I'm sure also we will be amazed and happy. The wedding list is also being slowly crossed off. We only have a few more little things to do and then we can sit back and enjoy all the company of our far away families:) Can't wait to have everyone here, even though the thought sometimes is overwhelming, I know it will not likely happen again and so I plan on enjoying every minute.

Some of the happenings...

...of the last month, well really this weekend since I haven't been taking many photos. The warmest it's been in the last 4 weeks is about -25, until yesterday. Now it's a balmy 4 degrees and the great melt has begun (hopefully). We (well, I) have been busy with wedding plans, visiting with friends, estudiar espanol, and watching too much downloaded television (which is over now!) These are the reasons I have not been sewing even though I have several projects on the go. It's easy to blame everything on the cold too.
It was Anthony's 9th birthday
Digging for woolly mammoth
Gord shared his dinner with Mari
We made fennel risotto (this is for you Chris)
Played some poker with the family (Anthony kicked our butts)
and practiced our poker faces
Gord's been enjoying his Cuban cigars
And practicing impersonating Che
For some reason, in -30 Calgary winter some of the plants are blooming
And the cats have been cuddly and providing much entertainment while we have been hibernating indoors
