Back to sewing...sort of

The last couple of weeks included some....

 Lime cupcakes

 Fall picnics

 Indoor golfing

And back to sewing!

I finally got the binding sewn on my bee quilt (so freakin' close to finishing this thing I can't wait!) and will hopefully get all the hand stiching complete this coming weekend in the Mhat with a belly full of pie...and maybe turkey....maybe..... (I'm thinking about eating meat again, that's right - maybe 15 years is long enough. And just because I had bacon, turkey and ribs this past weekend doesn't mean I'm going to dive in without seriously thinking about this personal delemia....so maybe...) AND I got started on a cute little project that is very colourful and so far turning out just dandy. Can't wait to find some time this week to hopefully finish it off:)

  2. haha, just let him get a taste of bacon and there's no turning back! here's the recipe for Lime Syrup Cupcakes:
    Cupcakes:
    9tbsp of butter
    1.5 C of flour
    2 1/4 tsp backing powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 eggs
    zest of one lime
    1/2 C milk

    Syrup:
Juice of 3 large limes (save 1tsp for the frosting)
    3/4 C of icing sugar
a few drops of coconut extract (i couldn't taste the coconut...don't think you really need it.

    Frosting:
    1/2 C cream cheese
    1tsp lime juice
    2C of icing sugar
    lime zest for the top

Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes
as the cupcakes are baking, make syrup; put ingrediants in sauce pan and stir over med. heat until disolved. Once the cupcakes are done, prick them all over and then drizzle the syrup over top (I did some with and some without, the syrup definitly added some moisture and limeyness). Beat the creamcheese and lime jice until smooth and gradually beat in the sugar to make the icing.

    Voilia!
