The great outdoors
My new potting table built by my new husband. I think it was as much as a project for him to do something nice as it was to say politely 'can you please stop spreading dirt on the kitchen table and floor'. It's lovely and perfect and yes, does keep the dirt off the kitchen table.
Gardening; my new love/hate relationship. Score standing is as follows Love 1, Hate .5, Rain 10. And really that .5 could be pushed into the rain category. Since conquering house plants (even an epic take over by red spider mites that I kicked in the butt last summer) We decided to try to grow our own veggies this year.
We build a raised bed and got to work (ok, Gord got to work the most). We thought we'd start small and see how great we were at it and then if victory was ours, we would expand our adventures next summer. Well, so far, it has rained and rained since we planted and we've had pockets of an hour or two of sunshine here and there over the last three week.
The results so far are a few sprouts, many a rotted seed (I'm assuming that's why nothing has sprouted in spots) and a small dirt patch outside the kitchen door where some herbs are suppose to be growing (so sad I couldn't even take a picture). The forecast in the next week is looking up though and perhaps, just maybe, the score will change in the coming weeks and before we know it we could be eating one whole salad with our beets, carrots, peas, and radishes...
And in indoor news....I bought my first new sewing machine:)
