Well that didn't go as planned!

Well camping turned out to be not so much camping as it was driving for 1400km. We got to where we wanted to camp late because of construction on the Rising Sun highway in Glacier National Park, so there was no camping available for miles around Flathead Park in Montana. There were also no hotels for miles around - we still can't figure out what the heck so many people are doing in Kailspel and Whitefish...it wasn't THAT fantastic! We called a co-worker who was staying nearby and they helped us find a campground (well, it was a field really) but after 12 hours of driving we didn't care. In the morning we took off to Cranbrook, found a hotel, and spent a day and half there, showering, napping, eating and visiting the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel. Then we drove home yesterday and are very thankful to be out of the car! Things didn't really pan out like we planned, but we sure had an adventure! Here's a few pictures from our 3 day trip:) Logan's Pass in Glacier National Park on the Rising Sun highway Canadian Museum of Rail Travel. Lots of the cars were in different states of restoration, most of the cars were from the hayday of rail travel in the early 1900's...I love old stuff!

This is Royal Alexandra Hall. It was a part of a hotel in Winnipeg that was demolished after rail travel fizzled out. The hall was meticulous taken apart, stored for years in a tractor trailer and in recent years reassembled at the museum. It was beautiful! On the way through BC to home, we couldn't help but stop at at least one abandoned house...something we use to do a lot. It was just as a big storm was blowing through and starting to rain, so we didn't explore it too much, and it turned out to be not that old anyway.
And when we got home my hoya had bloomed! So pretty!
